The idea of food self-sufficiency - where a country produces enough food to meet the needs of its people without heavily relying on imports - has become very important globally. With world trade often disrupted by issues like political problems, climate change, and pandemics, many countries are reconsidering the need to produce their own food. Some nations, such as the United States and Australia, are highly self-sufficient due to large farmlands and favorable weather. However, in crowded regions with limited farmland, reaching food self-sufficiency is difficult.
